There are several bus routes that pass close to our house.
The 78 leaves from inside the Harvard Square station (Red Line). When you are standing outside the subway turnstiles, facing the escalators, the bus terminal is to your right, up the ramp. The 78 stop is marked with a sign very near the top of the ramp.
The 78 will take you out Concord Ave, through the Fresh Pond rotaries, and through Belmont.
Eventually you will turn onto Pleasant Street and go over Rte 2. Ask for the bus to stop on the other side. After the bus turns left onto the Rte. 2 feeder road it will stop at the end of Venner Road.
Walk up Venner to Hillsdale and you will be facing our house.
All the Rte 2 buses (62, 67, 76, and 84) leave from the same part of the Alewife (Red Line) bus terminal. When you exit the turnstiles, turn right and walk past the restrooms. Turn left up the stairs. turn left at the top of the stairs and exit the building. The buses stop along this road, marked by signs.
The buses leave Alewife and go up Rte 2. They will take Exit 60 to stop at Lake Street and then will get back on Rte 2. You want the next stop: exit 59, Rte 60, Pleasant Street.
The bus will cross Pleasant and deposit you at the end of Venner Road.
Walk up Venner to Hillsdale and you will be facing our house.
The 67 turns onto Pleasant and stops a couple blocks down from Rte 2.
Cross Pleasant Street.
Walk back toward Rte 2.
The next two streets both lead to Hillsdale, one block up the hill. They are Brunswick and Venner.
If you walk up Venner to Hillsdale, you will be facing our house. If you walk up Brunswick you will need to turn left and walk a couple houses down to 75.
Venner end of Venner comes off the Rte 2 feeder road about 40 yards
from Pleasant Street. It is marked by a Do Not Enter sign and is the bus
stop for the 62, 76, 78, and 84 buses.
Venner Road leads straight to our driveway, on Hillsdale Road.
